The Peace that Passes Understanding

the peace of this morning’s
reflected in the breeze’s
gentle combing of the tall grasses
in the glinting of the sunlight
off the tender blades
in the dance of the ferns,
the shadows and sunshine
and even in the call of a far distant crow

how might I deserve such serenity
how might a blessing such as this
be granted unto me
or is it merely that I share in the promise of others
as I drink in the morning’s sweet solemnity

how can I know that Your love is for me
how can I be certain You’re calling my name
I peek in Your word
and seek out the covenants
that have been handed down to all, even me

from Abraham, Isaac,
Josiah and Job
to Stephen and Andrew
the endowment of hope
Matthew and Mark,
John and St. Luke
forgiven and blessed
and free from rebuke

only because You came
in full and wondrous love
to save us
not by our power,
not by our say,
save in the asking
that you make a way

then
true to Your Word
in unconditional love
You reach out,
accept us,
and by grace
we are saved

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, this is soooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I believe His love is meant to be for us all and only to ask for it is what makes the sun shine and His grace is eminent to us always! (kiss on cheek) This is a gorgeous uplifting poem, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

VAS:  Very beautiful and yes, I think it sounds finished.  You have covered the subject so well.

Beautiful!  I love it!
Amen!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
