My homeland is not of the world

Two Paths
By,
-Matt-

The sun begins to lower away
While I was taking a walk today
It divides the sky in two
One side light, the other dark blue

Two paths cross in front of me
Two paths, at least that's all I see
On one side there’s light shining high
On the other the darkness that'll die

In the dark floats a dragons head
With fire in every word it said
But in the light it will die
Because it cannot live up high

The light is home to the divine
And because of that, it proudly shines
The dark is home to pain and doom
Surely this wasn't started by a boom

A voice called out, oh yes it did
But can you remember what it said
"Let there be light" and there was light
It threw the darkness into the night

But the sun will lower each day
And darkness will find a way
To rise above both you and me
To darken everything we see

Two paths, one light, one dark
Ignites inside us a single spark
That makes us she a single tear
As we scream, "God is near!"

Two paths cross in front of me
Stretching as far as the eyes can see
One that's holy and free of pain
And one that's full of poisoned rain

Me, I pick the one with light
It's the only one pleasant to my sight
The darkness is full of death and pain
It tries to lure me, but it's all in vain

Two paths cross before you
One bright light, the other dark blue
The choice is totally up to you
So, which path will you choose?

hope you liked it.here's a hint pick the one with light

You see clearly the right path to take, with this poem lets hope others will see too.
Good poem.

(smiles) YAY!!! I love the hook you associated at the end of the poem, sweet friend, you made the choice seem so obvious as we should all be looking forward to the light! (big hugggssssss) I love this, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Matt, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I shall choose the path with light and try my best not to be led by the devil who  tries to sway.
One foot in front of the other I say.

You make the choice so easy as well as presenting it in such a beautiful read.
