That glorious body which was whipped and torn
That loving face which took such scorn
That side that bled where the spear was plunged
Those lips given vinegar from a sponge

That lovely head bore a thorny crown
Yet His nail scarred hand still reaches down
It extends beyond the heavens and sea
Till it’s close enough it reaches me

All these parts form a glorious King
Whose greatest desire is to bring
Salvation to the sinner, hopeless and lost
Never once regretting the price it cost

Thank you Jesus for the sacrifice of your body
and your precious blood that saves.

And thank you Cheryl for portraying so vividly the gift through pain and sorrow that was given to ua, the ultimate example of God's purest form of Love. May we follow the example of Christ in our love for God, and love others as Christ taught, regardless of the pain and suffering it may bring us.
