The Heavens Sing
(Isaiah 49: 13)

The Lord commands the Heavens sing
And then provides the very thing
To make it possible. We hear
The songs of birds drift to our ear.
From early morning when they start
To trill and call with happy heart,
Until the closing of the day,
Their serenade will bless our way.

Such varied beauty can be found
In feathered friends who fly around
And some who are quite plain to see
Can warble with great artistry!
They do their job and do it well.
Their music casts melodic spell
And tells us they are glad to be
The instrument of his decree!

Noah:  I'm glad you enjoy birds as much as I do. We are just now getting sparrows back after them being gone for the winter. Thanks for your nice remarks.

Betty Lou - One of my favorite pastimes is to sit and watch the birds at our feeders. They are so gentle, timid and entertaining. I love your poem.

Marti:  Thanks for commenting and nice that you have a feeder where you can enjoy the birds that come.  They are an endless source of entertainment.  I am waiting for the hummingbirds to come in April.  They are my favorite.

Tramp Poet:  I've always liked that verse in Mathew and it is appropriate for this poem too.  Thanks for reading and appreciate your comments.
