a Witness/Last Watch

We’re whistlin’ a soft, old hymn
son stops, skips a stone, chases bug.
Later; we fish in quiet meditation
seems like my Father is near me.

{Warrior stands lonely, last watch
heavily muscled body in moonlight.
Large, lonely absolute sentinel
entrusted with comrades dreams.}

Feeling His essence next to me
His words ringing through time.
His thoughts almost on my lips
I feel Him sitting next to me.

{Nary a sound tword wee morn
slight rustle within slighter wisps.
Sleeping nicker of faithful steeds
alert as moon slips off to bed.}

Setting sun piercing through
past trees that guard the pond.
Shafts of almost evening caress
Father is showing a part to me.

{Guard trusted with others lives
friend trusted with others life.
Those alseep, sleep sound, rest
knowing without a single doubt.}

I turn, smile at my son
his hand outstretched in wonder.
Our Father is here with us
talking to my son, and with me.

{Warrior kneels in thanksgiving
quiet time with his quiet worship.
Man made bigger with his surrender
morn breaks as he wakes the others.}

    ...was once upon, bleeding
        and Tramp Poet for awhile.
         Now I'm just little ole me
          wearing nothin but a smile.

Tried these two "shorties" together
and Wendy Woo said it worked for her...
what do y'all say?
