My Name is Eve

I dreamed I met a woman who
Was draped in veils of somber hue.
As I approached, I felt that she
Meant to stop and speak to me.
I slowed my pace. She raised her head,
Then touched my shoulder and she said:

"My name is Eve.I'm Adam's mate.
I was created for that fate.
We lived in Eden long ago.
I wish I had a way to show
The wonders of that blessed place,
Before the serpent showed his face.

We used to wander hand in hand.
All through that garden God had planned,
Where birds and animals lived near
And no one had a thing to fear.
Before I disobeyed, I guess,
We were the soul of happiness.

The serpent said he was my friend.
That Paradise would never end
Because I took a little bite
Of apple and I thought him right.
It was delicious and I knew
That Adam would enjoy some too.

Oh, fateful day!How could it be
That one act changed our history?
Through me all evil entered in
To curse the world with woe and sin!
I've lived with sorrow from the start,
Then Cain and Abel broke my heart!

Have I been hated through the years?
I've shed my share of bitter tears,
But nothing that I say or do,
Could ever make it clear to you
The pain I feel. It's hard to be
The mother of humanity!

I dream of Eden more and more,
Where God smiles on me as before!"

BettyLou~
I am moved in different directions with this read~
That's a stimulating thing !

You've expressed what may have been the agony of Eve quite well ... I've often wondered if she was 'forgiven' for her sin ...(the Bible does not seem to make it clear) ... seems that Eden may not have been so perfect after all, if she was not~

I certainly don't mean to start a controversial thread on your piece~
These are my thoughts and only my thoughts,
I need to study them more thoroughly~

Oh ... pay me no mind, my friend ... I have perhaps become a cynical child of 'modern-day thinking'~

****
Eve, Eve ... Mother of Humanity ...  you are forgiven by me ... even if you had not been tempted on that day ... I doubt the world would have turned out much differently ... Sin of the Serpent was just waiting to happen~  It would seem to me that you were just in the right garden at the wrong moment~

BettyLou ... thank you soooooo much for this ponderous write ... I shall bring this subject up for discussion in Sunday's classes of teaching~

Betty Lou, you've done a wonderful job of interpreting the feelings of Eve. We shall never know until Heaven all of the answers but I'm sure she regretted her decision as many of us regret our sins today. Even when forgiven, the consequences of our sin affect us and generations that follow. Nice work. Cheryl

Marge:  Thank you for your very thoughtful and insightful reply.  You raise a question that was in my own mind as I wrote it.  Was Eve forgiven by God?  I like to think that she was. He forgave greater sins than hers and still does!

Cheryl:  Thank you for reading and I appreciate your response.  I know we aren't going to have answers until Heaven, as you say. I guess there are things we aren't supposed to know until then!

Thank you for this beautiful little poem about Eve, and the Garden of Eden. And Marge, thanks for opening up a little thought that could be controversial. I hope that my adding a thought or two does not fuel a dark fire, as I only search for light.  And I am going to be controversial!

As I also have searched the question of Eve's submitting to Lucifer in the Garden. And after pondering and much prayer, I have received somewhat different insight, than is taught in modern day churches, from the Holy Spirit guiding me into knowledge with wisdom. The following are my beliefs:

Eve was a victim. As I believe that Adam first walked with God and was instructed by God. But God let Adam raise, nurture and instruct Eve. Eve was as a child to Adam. And so when Satan offered the fruit of the tree of good and evil to Eve, he was offering lies that were in reality the fruit, "selfish illusion". The other fruit of the tree of good and evil is truth! Let's look at Genesis 3, verses 4 and 5 in the NIV.

You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Genesis 3:4-5

When Eve told Adam that they were like God, my belief is that Adam recognized that if he was like God then He could put Eve into bondage and use her to satisfy His selfish lusts. And from that time on, man has tried to own woman!

And from the beginning the Bible translators have accepted Adam's choice, and have participated in a conspiracy configuring God to the uninformed as a He. (God is I AM, meaning all life that exists.) God gave Adam total freedom, without defining right or wrong but allowed man to come to him in times of need, and helped man through difficult times by guiding him to understandi certain knowledge from God's Word (not our written Holy Bible, but the awesome incomprhensible to man, infinite meanings of God's Ways), through visits with the Holy Spirit in study, prayer and counsel. And translators under the influence of man's bias have turned everything around to fit man's way, using God's guidance but saying what man configured was God's ordering.

The Ten Commandments were originally simply an answer to Moses' prayer when he could not control the unruly Israelites. Man later adopted them as Universal Laws. And Christ recognized this. God recognizes man's earthly authority and instructs us to always submit to it except when we are asked to put other gods before Him. He also answers our prayers of faith and helps us visualize wise solutions to our problems.

But in all cases of documented history, God has only reacted to man with loving guidance. Man has twisted God's Wisdom and Mercy, configuring all rules of right and wrong and then said the God ordered it.  God knows no sin. He made everything good. It is only when man's selfishness breeds illusion that sin takes place.

Remember that Christ was always gentle and loving with women. And God only saved the prostitute in Jerico as He always pleaded with man to come in love back to Him.

Christ in all of His Wisdom, as taught by the Angels, simply worked within the established earthly authority that man had invented. God was defined as The Father of Adam. God allowed this structure to evolve, as man could not be purified if God intervened. We men are all extensions of mixed seed from God's Spirit of Man half seeds in Adam, or Satan.

Women are extensions of God's half seed, Spirit of Woman taken from Adam, when he birthed Eve, or in Lilith, a woman angel-like creature with wings (known as the Owl in Isaiah) who God shared with Adam before Eve, according to Hebrew folk lore.  The Holy Bible is ordained of God, but God has allowed man to make many omissions in translation, due to much confusion among earth's inhabitants.

So my insight is that Eve was simply an innocent child, and was abused by Satan and Adam.

And God's tears flowed deeply, but His plan required giving man, beginning with Adam, total freedom, as nothing rigged could be ever be made pure. Man must find pure Love of God with total repentance, release and acceptance of God's way: Love, Light, Life and Purity. It is God's Only Way to Salvation. And Jesus Christ, God's Son is the Spirit of Love, and planted Love again on the earth by way of His Crucifixion and shows us hope through His Resurection. His Gifts of the Spirit to us allow us to find, Speak and Interpret His Truths to bring man back to God healing through faith and love to purify man and give man eternal life.

And Woman is God's chosen instrument to Lead Man to Salvation. For Women are the true jewels of God's Throne. We men should always hold all women in the highest esteem and recognise their role in God's plan. They are His jewels! Women also must accept Salvation as God's true way. But that is a different chapter.

There! Now, you have something controversial. Although, I honestly believe I am speaking the Truth.
