For five long days I've been snowbound,
My home with blanket pulled around,
Is as quiet as the distant hill
That nestles in its white surround.
My world is still.

And so my thoughts have turned to You.
My soul has needed tending to.
This quiet gives me time to think,
To take me from the worldly view.
Your goodness drink.

It's only Your voice that I hear,
It's speaking to me loud and clear.
And though the world I soon must face,
I'll keep Your voice within my ear.
Your love embrace.

Dear Joyce,
I am happy to be the first to respond to this meditative poems....Sorry to keep you waiting!
The weather's been much better here--but it looks like the winter's handicap, has served to give you a spiritual advantage!!!!
It's so wonderful to be able to turn the lesser deemed expreiences of life into special and rewarding occassions!
I appreciate your attitude & positive apporach to things!

Your Friend,
   David

Joyce,

I have some shared sentiments here.  I really like the warm feelings your poem leaves within me as if I am snuggled right in there with GOD.  Again, a very warm and special moment you have shared with us.  I do apreciate and thank you for sharing your poetry.  GOD bless you.

"My soul has needed tending to.
This quiet gives me time to think, ..."

I really enjoyed reading your poem as it made me feel all warm and snuggly with God. The line I picked out above was especially moving. Thank you for sharing your words and your spirituality. Hugs, Marti

Joyce, how lucky you are to be snowbound with God. You couldn't ask for a better companion. This is warm and tender. I enjoyed it very much. Cheryl

Joyce:  A wonderful poem and isn't it a great blessing to know that no matter what is happening to us, He is with us?  I have been snowbound several times this winter and it always holds an element of anxiety!  I know if I really needed help, I could find it by phone, but it's nice to have the roads open just the same.  Now that my husband is home from the hospital, I am hoping we won't have that much snow again. Hopefully all will go well for him.

Really enjoyed this poem!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.  I was able to get out a bit today, the temperature rose and the snow went fast.  (Next we'll probably be hearing flood warnings.)  But I really enjoyed the solitude and the chance to speak one on one with God.  Love, Joyce

Dear Joyce; I loved this poem....the one thing i love about Winter, is to be all warm at home with my family. I related to this poem in that I wake every night to the quiet time I spend listening to God's words of love and wisdom! Hugs, Ellie
