Giving life "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." NIV John15:13 God gives to each of us our heart's desires And gives us fully His awesome powers He seeks our wholesome Love in return Our hearts, our minds our souls that yearn. When we follow His Love in purity He gives us peace with joy and liberty We live forever in His shining glow He teaches us to sing and Love and Know. But when we follow our own desires first Follow lust and darkness with selfish thirst Lies we follow destroy all liberty We surely die without His energy. He gave us His Spirit of Love, the Christ His Son, of Bethlehem, who paid our price By dying on a cross of wood to show The greatest gift of pure Love, one could know. Is giving life. I often read about Christ's crucifixion and marvel at what He went through for us and the capacity for love that He has. It is so humbling to know that He finds us worthy of that kind of sacrifice. This is a wonderful poem! Betty Lou Hebert |

Silver Streak, This is a wonderful poem that expresses the Love that GOD has for us. Your referenced verse expresses fully the love that can be expressed by man in that the extent that a man will go is to lay down his life for a friend .... But GOD's Love, as you express at the end of your poem, reaches far beyond the love that can be expressed by man ... for while we where in enmnity, yet sinners, separated from GOD .... that's exactly the time that Christ layed down His life for us. Again, a poem that expresses the Love of GOD that reaches far beyond our human understanding and certainly vast enough to discover afresh and anew each and every day.
