Soft wings, white fantasy
~~~~feathered ~~~~light
slowly wafting on the wind.
Lifted higher...spiraling,
circling round,
nearer to hope.
Collected,
pressed into daring words,
daring thoughts. Tickling
the sensitive dreams of pure flight,
winged delight.Daydreams
stroked under the chin, awakened
to the quill of a poet.A feather
lost, one feather tossed
into the mysterious air-streams
of faith.Disappearing in...
the sky of God's own longing for us.
Ivy, this is very touching. How often we forget how He longs for us. Isn't it incredible to comprehend sometimes? Thanks for this. Cheryl
Ivy Rose, a most beautiful poem. I love these lines,
"Daydreams
stroked under the chin, awakened
to the quill of a poet."
and the last line
"Disappearing in...
the sky of God's own longing for us"
Yes He does long for us when we turn our backs to Him.. A lot of food for thought here, lovely poem. floria
This is simply beautiful. God longs for us to be in his presense. Like any father that loves his children.
I love this poem, Ivy Rose, His passionate longing for us is an ever constant joy !
A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
Ivy Rose:  You have brought out a truth in this poem, that I think we often overlook. In our longing to be with Him, we sometimes forget how much He longs to be with us! Thanks.
