Cycle of Renewal

The streams and rivers carry off
What winter left behind
And as the waters fall and clear
Sweet spring has come, I find.

Forgotten are the storms and cold.
The frost and winter ways.
We welcome vernal equinox
And bask in warming days.

The plants all know it is the time
To stretch and show their heads.
They grow so swiftly in the sun
And fill the flower beds.

This cycle of renewal that
We witness every year,
Assures us of continuance
Of things that we hold dear.

God planned it all so carefully.
Each season made with love
And sent to us so we will know
He's watching from above!

Betty Lou, if I didn't believe this, I would have given up a long time ago.
Thank you for reminding me

Betty Lou, what an uplifting piece of poetry. It certainly brightened this gloomy day here in North Carolina. Thanks for sharing. Cheryl
