Dreamer Of Dreams

The restlessness of woe
the frosted winds that blow
could never darken days
nor cover dreams with snow

I feel the heavens smile
through the calm of sun's yawn
in a baby's angelic coo
at the soft of another dawn

Yes, time may cover me
with years that bring a tear...
as long as He lives inside
I know I need not fear

And, butterflies they rise
in the eyes of a hopeful heart
knowing with every end
God creates a start

He's the poet of my breath
restoring me from above...
my greatest inspiration
the purest of all love

Bitterness may rage
to rip my life at the seams
but, I know I need not worry
through the shadow of sorrow's screams
for, I am the Lord's masterpiece
and, I am a dreamer of dreams

Melissa I can't begin to tell you how much I loved this one.  I printed it out for a little book I keep and treasure of poems that I love, and I especially loved this line...
"He's the poet of my breath" (isn't that the truth?)  Beautiful, simply beautiful!

Ah, Melissa, my dear friend...I am so inspired by this precious poem to the Glory of our Lord and every word do I echo with you. You have a magnificent gift and a most lovely humble spirit...Love to you, Ellie

What a sweet poem!  I also love that line "He's the poet of my breath", as well as the phrase "the soft of another dawn".  What beautiful pictures they paint!  Thanks for posting this.

Thank you, Mellissa. Especially enjoyed your last strophe:

Bitterness may rage
to rip my life at the seams
but, I know I need not worry
through the shadow of sorrow's screams
for, I am the Lord's masterpiece
and, I am a dreamer of dreams

Melissa, my comments will seem redundant. This is the beauty of poetry and I do believe a God-breathed gift. You use it well to glory Him. Thanks for sharing. Cheryl

If this were mine...and I am ashamed to admit, I do not have the skill to write such, I would have someone well versed in calligraphy transfer this to some beautiful parchment paper, then frame it, and hang it where I could see it every day....

A beautiful write, MelyBee...I am very proud of you for this one....
