GLORY BOUND

I hear them singing now
Angels ‘round His throne
Sweetly praising the King
As they call me gently home

No regrets, my life was grand
But I hunger for the Promised Land
Heavenly choir sings so sweet
Precious Savior, it’s time we meet

You’ve lived in my heart for quite a while
I know you have the sweetest smile
With eyes so loving, gentle and warm
Your caring arms shield me from harm

But the thing I long most to do
is present my only gift to you.
The tears that I no longer need,
may I use them to wash your precious feet?

For all my burdens have been lain there
and to dry your feet with tender care
would bring my heart such wondrous pleasure.
For you, Dear Jesus, my greatest treasure!

So sing sweet angels, I’m coming home
to take my place at the foot of the throne.

His Poet,

Oh, no precious oil on earth could ever compare to those tears of your complete surrender my poet friend.  Your request expresses such complete humbleness before your Lord and Savior.   Such a beautiful thing to be doing at the foot of His throne.

Bob, a beautiful song sung at church brought this about. It's called "The Alabaster Box" and it reminds me of Mary pouring out the oil on Jesus' feet and the disciples scolding her for the waste. She knew the importance of her gesture when His own men did not. Thanks so much for reading. Cheryl

Thank you sweet Cheryl. I love your beautifu thoughts! Remember the old hymn?

Won't it be wonderful, wonderful, there?
Having no burdens to bare over there
Joyously singing with heart bell are ringing.
O won't it be wonderful there?

You can find me easily when you get there!
I don't just sing, I loudly roar. LOL...

Excellent, Cheryl!  I just hope we all have that attitude of the heart when it's time to meet our Lord.

I also love "The Alabaster Box".  That song always ministers to me.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

Traci, thanks for reading this one. As for the attitude thing, I think as we age, that attitude becomes easier to adopt. As much as I love my family and this earth, there is a joy and anticipation of leaving this world when the time comes. Unless by some wonderful happening, He comes again while we're still alive. Even now, Come Lord Jesus. Cheryl

Yes! Home is where the heart is, and heaven is our home if you love Jesus...
Thank you for writing such a musical poem. Makes me want to sing!

Hugs,
Deb
