SHADOWS Ominous and dark are shadows of the night lurking like a beggar in alleyways of heart. Agile in their movements they trip the unwary then lead them by the nose to rubbish bins of soul. Some float, some sink, some giggle, wink, and with a wicked smirk entice the innocent with the offer of new life. “See how we live joined hand to hand for life, companions forever in the world made by ourselves of all we were so far back then when rain fell on the earth and immortalized our souls in mud of our design.” Their hands trace shivers up my spine; I jump, I dance, I run, and yet sometimes, so many times, I think they’re family holding out a blanket to warm my inner cold. Could I be wrong, do I belong in this commune of souls floating round in circles of all I ever was? No wings, I’ve got no wings, how can I learn to fly up and beyond horizons of “me” that stretch and keep on stretching into eternity? A glimmer in the shadows – looks like the light of love searching for feathers in the garbage bin of souls. HMH |

 (sigh) Ooohhhhhh...I believe that the shadows do comfort us and blanket us with loves promises, just as they will add feathers to our wings as we grow and fly to embrace the light of His heart and love! We must have darkness to have light.. so the shadows too, you only see them against the light. If all were dark. YOu would never see the shadows. nice write. floria |
