The winter had passed:
my heart had slumbered
in Winter's hibernation
awaiting the dawning
of Love's true awakening.
Then He appeared
outside my window
as a young roe
standing behind
the lattice
of my walled garden.
His sweet voice
calling to me from the clefts
of the rocks, from the secret
places beyond my stairwell.

My heart was wooed
by the fragrance
of His words,
by the orchard
of His spices.
He knocked upon
the door of my heart
saying, "Open unto me."
Through love-woken eyes,
I saw Him leaping
upon the mountains,
skipping upon the hills;
and I opened the gate
letting Him enter
into my secret place.

He became my Bridegroom
and I His Chosen Bride.
I was invited to dwell
in the orchard of His spices,
in the sweet incense
of His Infinite Love.

Oh, so lovely as you write of Solomon's Song of Songs, one of my favorites...His depth of Love and wooing of us just takes my breath away! Wonderful poem! Ellie

(sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, the most beautiful feeling of all is to feel married to the name of Love, our loving Lord. (sigh) So beautiful, sweet friend, may He always cometh to us all and light us with His utmost Love! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend!
