Night of Falling Stars

When midnight came, we went outside
And spread some blankets on the grass.
Then lay beneath the sky so wide,
To watch the Perseid shower pass.
At first, there only were a few,
But as an hour drifted by,
So many more came into view
And then Aurora flared on high!

The scene was such an awesome sight,
I wondered if God hovered there.
Throwing meteors left and right
And blowing colors through the air.
No spectacle that man could try,
Can be compared with what we see.
God is the master of the sky,
The universe and you and me.

Every August He reminds
How vast and mighty are His ways.
The images are etched, I find,
In memory for all my days!

Trillium.

As you might tell by my recent poetry that I have a similar gravitation to the sky and this is a spectacular event that you have described poetically.  Simply awe inspiring.
I guess this is all OK for us to do since Jesus says that we should be looking up in expectation of His return.  It must be going to be some spectacular light show when Jesus comes. Amen.

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Noah:  Thank you for your nice comments. The next Perseid meteor shower is slated for August 12th this year.  I don't know how far south it extends, but I would think you would see some of it in Colorado.  It doesn't usually start until around midnight. You might check with your local astrology club and see what they can tell you.

Bob:  Thanks for commenting and I have read your poetry about the sky and enjoyed it. I'm sure we can't even come close to imagining what it will display upon the return of Jesus!
