The Dragon's Altar

Hidden by swriling mists a Darkling Lord
stands before the altar
Long leather coat and flaming sword

To this place he once came to pray
such sweet memories
Till a velvet touch led him away

A Dragon stirs but still she sleeps
A smile on her lips
She tries not to weep

The heart remembers she sheds a tear
returns to sweet dreams
A Love from yesteryear

Welcome to "Passions" amberdragoness ...

Your poem is very creative and offers for me a very nice mythological interlude from the usual. Thank you for sharing.  -Bob

Welcome! This is an interesting poem. Was it inspired by Lord Byron's poem, Darkness?

I am touched. deeply beautiful, and wonderfully written. Welcome, *smiles*, You will heal and grow with everyday. Remember, That Lord still lives, wrapped in black, perhaps but in the deepest shadows of the mind...but still, alive....he knows you feel him still,,,,and he smiles from that memory...be you well, and Thank you,.--Lord Kelath
