Christmas is a time for giving,
A time for loving, a time for living.
Christmas is a whole lot more,
A time the Christ Child to adore.

The Child though born so long ago,
Still puts a very special glow
In human hearts, this time of year,
When ever Christmas Eve draws near.

Why is it every other birth,
And there've been millions on this earth,
Will not go down in history,
Like His?  It is a mystery.

Why did it cause such a sensation,
Announced in every land and nation?
Talked of for 2000 years;
His birth is special, it appears.

The churched and unchurched with delight,
Will celebrate this special night.
How can anyone say he doesn't believe,
When he finds such joy in Christmas Eve?

You may claim to be an infidel,
You don't believe in heaven or hell.
But your actions belie the words you say,
When you celebrate His birth on Christmas Day.

Joyce; You have captured the essence and mystery of Christmas and the meaning of His Love and birth so beautifully! Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Christmas has so much to offer to the believers or the non-believers alike.  Christmas is such a wonderful time of year that it seems everyone gets in a special spirit of giving... but the most important thing as you have written is our celebration of the reason for the season... our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  A nicely focused poem.  -Bob

A very strong case and point that the world even with its highly commercialized state of mind still acknowledges Jesus as the reason for the season.  I really liked the power that I felt behind (in support of) your words in this poem.  Hope you had a blessed Christmas. -Bob
