Fear’s an encompassing cloud
Of fog that never lifts
Whether alone or in a crowd
Its vision blocker exists

It’s often formed by those we love
And try so hard to please
Condemning us for everything
Ignoring all our pleas

We walk on eggs, afraid, unsure
Of their reactions to come
While striving for a future
That’s best for everyone

Efforts go unnoticed
The dark cloud closes in
Love and hatred twist
Opening doors to sin

Smothered and helplessly hopeless
God hears each plea in prayer
Whenever He’s asked to  help us
We find that He is there

Reading His word on faith and fear
We find they’re opposites
Anywhere perfect faith is found
Fear no longer exists

Faith in our Creator
The giver of all life
Faith in Christ our Savior
Ends our fear and strife

Each has a measure of faith
That strengthens when exercised
But it’s a matter of where it’s placed
In a human or God, all wise

Family, pastors and doctors
Are humans deserving respect
Yet, no match for Christ occurs
To save, comfort, guide and protect

A lot of wisdom for living here in this poem.  Fear's power is only as strong as we let it be. Reminds me of the verse.. "be strong and of good courage".

I enjoyed your poem so much!  It was brought home to me this Thanksgiving, when an incident occured that was frightening and we, at our house, called on God and within a short time, He answered in a very positive way!

Songbird- Glad you found some wisdom in this one.  Thanks for the scripture reminder.

Allstaria- You made my day!  Thanks for your kind comments.

Betty- Happy to learn God removed a recent fear in a positive way after you'd petitioned.  Also, I'm honored that you, so poetically talented, enjoyed my write.  Thank you.
