A Prayer of Thanksgiving Lord, today I thank you for answered prayers For the protection you keep on giving us For the way you work quietly behind the scenes Changing hearts and changing minds Swaying gently men's hearts To bring about your will Thank you for being the unseen power That keeps working things out for good Even when we lose hope and our trust grows weak Thank you for the strength that you provide For battles we cannot fight alone For all this and even more we thank you Lord we thank you for things we own They are not our most important assets Most possessions we could live without All our necessities we find with you For without you Lord We have nothing We are but small vessels tossed about We thank you for Your all seeing eye That's watching over us day and night Your steadfast love is our anchor So as I bow my head in prayer Thanking you I thank you Most of all For just being here Abiding within my heart For where you are Fear cannot survive You make the darkest corners light So in the harbor of your love Where peace and safety flourish I want to live forever Protected and nourished Listening to your heartbeat Under your Almighty wings |
