Waiting for Heaven’s Call

Lord, I stand here waiting for your call
Listening, longing to hear Your precious voice
Anxious to see You, the Apostles, Peter and Paul
Thankful, oh Lord, heaven to me was a choice

How I long to be in Your presence and hear You say,
“Well done, enter into the joy of your Master;”
I wonder, Heavenly Father, will this be the day
The doors of heaven will open and I will enter

There are things I have wondered and will ask You
for I know I shall stand before Your throne
At that time I shall understand Your Word anew;
No longer will the answers be unknown

I am ready, oh Lord, for heaven’s call
Understanding Your Will for my life is best
I shall marvel at the glory of heaven’s all,
for heaven is the place where one is truly blest

Your Word teaches, “In heaven, there’s no more pain,
no more dying, and nary a tear,”
Heaven, for me, can only be great gain
There’s nothing to dread or fear

Family and friends, weep no more for me
Lift up your eyes to our Father above
Thank Him, and rejoice that I am free;
living in the light of His glorious love

Betty; This was written in loving memory of a friend of ours'.  He came to know the Lord in the last year of his life.  He was a good family man, and is missed greatly by family and friends.  The thing that comforts all who knew him is that he is with the Lord; and the separation from him is merely temporary.

Thank you for your comments on the poem.  Wanda

Wanda  I am happy for you as well as your friend that he found salvation before it was too late for him.  Praise the Lord for His goodness.  Joyce

Joyce; We were thrilled for this as well.  There had been many people praying for his salvation and for quite a number of years. We are grateful that God answered those prayers.  Thank you for your comments.  Wanda

A very special piece.  My mom came to a know-ledge of God's loving, forgiving grace just before she died, too, so I know the joy, peace, and relief that brings.  Thank you for sharing this.

Rae;  I am happy your Mother came to know the Lord prior to the Lord calling her home.  I know that gives you great comfort now. I lost both of my parents in the last few years and I know the peace that comes from knowing they are with the Lord.  Thank you for your response.  Wanda
