How can it be?

That the sun shines
so bright,
upon this garden
so lush
with beauty and life?

How can it be?

When horror and destruction
fill the nation.
Hearts broken and lives lost?

How can it be?

That God brings such
beauty and life,
yet evil abounds?

His Love and Promise
of new hope
and new life,
are everywhere.

It can only be
that we have faith,
for His gifts
of Love and Wonder
shall
always prevail!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Ah, yes, doors may close but God will always open a window.  This time it's through your touching piece.  Thank you.

ellie,

It rains on the just and on the unjust just the same.... and so does the sun also shine. We are so fortunate to be a part of this new tomorrow.  As your poem implies, perhaps as we have lived through these tragic days, we have gained a greater appreciation for each day that His Love and His Wonders do abound.  Beautiful thoughts.  God bless.   -Bob

Maybe God's people needed to look around and see how wonderful God's world can be.  Joyce

I've wondered the same things many times in the last week Ellie ~ And like you, know it's our faith in God that will help us.  This beautiful piece sums that up so well.  Thanks for sharing... Bonnie

Ellie~

'How can it be?'

I honestly don't know right now~

I'm trying hard to anchor my faith by spending a lot of time praying for those who are drowning in the waves of sorrow~

Trying times ... trying times~

This assault on our nation's innocent is too terrible to believe. Yet it happened.
God gave man a free will, and some choose to do evil. Their day of reckoning will come.
Faith in God and trusting his love, is what will see us through.

Hugs,
Deb

Well expressed, Ellie!
I've pondered the same thing!
But, I keep reminding myself that it is not God, but, the devil who causes such pain.
And I try to hold tight to faith and optimism just like you are~

Take care and hugs!

"His Love and Promise
of new hope
and new life,
are everywhere."

we just have to see it, acknowledge it, and trust in it
I liked this very much
