He Built A Bridge
~*Marge Tindal*~

He built a bridge over the water
so I would not drown in the sea
Plank by plank He laid down the path
which I would follow with glee

He knew that in, the river of sin
I could surely fall
So He built a bridge for me

His love carried me over the water
with small steps of faith on my part
Over the river so deep and wide
I stepped with His love in my heart

On the other side ... in His love sanctified
He was waiting ... Yes, waiting for me

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Dear Marge; I found myself actually singing as I read this wondrous poem! It reads like an old time hymn! Seriously, You should get this set to music, how lovely that would be to hear it sung by a whole choir!  Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

As I read your poem, I could see the cross that Jesus rose from as a bridge covering the river of our sin making a way to the other side.  He truly has bridged the gap caused by sin for us all.  A beautiful poem and presentation.  -Bob
