rising early
practicing faith
indwelling day
practicing piety
seeking the way

perfection is our goal
perfection is our dream
perfection is impossible
in this earthen stream

for when we get it right
when we do it well
no longer on this earthly plane
will we find our place to dwell

all we can accomplish
all we can succeed
is to practice living as He would
in love, in thought, in deed

then by His love
and by His power
we’ll meet His hand
that final hour

This is so true. We know we never can attain perfection, but we have to keep trying to be the best we can.
