The Tree Of Calvary

by Andrea R. Michaud age 11

Here I am
standing here waiting.
I want to see Your holy face
looking back at me,
though I know I can't
because of that tree of Calvary.

Here I am
weeping for Your love.
Can't you hear me crying out?
I want to know your love, Oh Lord,
though I know You can't
because of that tree of Calvary.

Here I am.
Will you hold me tight
with that love I've always known?
Will you love me forever in a day
though I know You can't
because of that tree of Calvary?

~Andrea

This is a very wonderful poem, Andrea.  But He can.  That tree of Calvary did not defeat him..  Good job.  Joyce

Joyce,

My poem is about Mary and how she felt.

Andrea~
What a tenderly written piece of your heart.

In giving her son ... Mary had to have felt great anguish.
You have shown that so deeply in your poem.

Bless you, sweet child of God.

Robin,
I was really the same way.  I felt a lot of emotion. The wierd thing is that I cried too.

Wonderful poem, when we learn whose point of view it is. Mary had to accept the path of her son because of God's great love for all. Oh how important it is for us, then, to accept the love of that sacrifice.

Keep writing Andrea, you are well beyond your years IMO. Someone has surely touched your heart.

I thought I had replied to this earlier-I apologize for my carelessness in not getting it done.
Andrea, You are to be commended for this lovely poem. It has a wonderful message, and shows potential on your part, perhaps a God-given ability like Bob , which you should seek to cultivate and use for the Lord's glory.
God bless You and keep up the Good work.

P.S. Bob, I'm sure you are proud of her and have every right to be

How happy you must be to be a child of God and know your Savior.  How proud your father must be.  Thank you for sharing this with us
