As the moonlight and the sunlight
Shine upon our waking day
Will we find the inner courage
To seek out the narrow Way

Though the Way be frought with peril
Hardships to the Flesh and Soul
Will we find the strength within us
To continue to our goal

There's a Place prepared Above
Where all may find unending Love
Each and every knee will kneel
In temple of the soul made real

There we'll see upon the throne
The One who made and called us home
With Lord Jesus by His side
Who for our sins was crucified

There's a Home for those who stay
Upon the steep and narrow Way

*note: This started off as a hymn in my head. I can still hear the melody, but can't really convey the structure, except for this: First two stanza's our slow and stately, with the remainder triumphant, bass led. Hope that helps.   *

Dear Allicat.  I did notice the change in rhyme pattern after the first two stanzas.  I guess if it were set to music that it might be as you described.  I write poetry butnot music, so I can't really judge.  Nice poem though, even though I was thrown by the rhyme change.  Joyce

I like this so much and I think it would make a beautiful hymn.  Hope you do set it to music.

Your hymn succeeded - for I was humming along even before I read that it was supposed to be a hymn!   I like this very much - I'm just very thankful I don't have to walk that narrow way alone.

Yes, I like it!  Thanks for the footnotes.  I put some base and stong emphasis on the last two stanzas and it sounded great to me.... and then the last two lines were a kind of a chorus that I repeated a few times over....  in other words I really emphasised Crucified!!!  ...and then tapered off with the chorus at the end. Anyway, Great poem/song.  -Bob

Thank you for sharing your song. I really liked the concept that the Narrow Way is also a steep path.
