How very proud he must be, of the lady he calls wife.
You take the time for all of us, out of your busy life.
Now that he is retiring, we stop to think upon it.
We're wondering how ever on this earth you could have done it.

Without you we could not have solved the problems that we faced.
Now you the irreplaceable must somehow be replaced.
You never shunned a duty and were always doing more
Than we had any right to ask, which we now thank you for.

God must have chosen you for him, to share his heavy duty.
The pure sweetness of your soul shows on your face with beauty.
You gave of your time and talent, without a thought of pay
And in our joys and sorrows, you kneeled with us to pray.

If sometimes we seemed ungrateful, we're so very sorry.
We know you always did more than was obligatory.
You're leaving with our blessings and wishes for happiness
And more love from every single heart, than you could ever guess.

Very touching. A tribute to an unsung hero.

This is a great tribute to your pastor's wife.  I hope you gave her a copy of it.  I'm sure she'll treasure it always.

Joyce what a beautiful tribute to a sometimes thankless job. I hope you've printed this out and given her a copy of it?

It reminds me of an email that floats around every so often. Someone took the time to help someone else, and the payment for that...was to do a kindness in helping someone else.

So I hope you or others might be able to kneel and pray with others that might need it. In honor of God and of her.

Very lovely.  I'd like to send this to our pastor's wife, but she's not leaving.  I wonder if she'd still enjoy it.

This is a beautiful tribute.   I thank you for the chance to remember some ladies who influenced and blessed my life even more than their husbands did.

I'm sure your poem has brought tears to her eyes as it has mine.....  your writing here is so honorable to the one who so often gets little or no recognition.  I am so thankful for your sensitivity to her work for the Lord, to the congregation of the Lord, to the community in which she served, and to a world in need.  I think I'll write one for my pastor's wife.  Great idea.  -Bob
