Dedicated to Jason, God rest your soul.

He was young when life ended
But he didn't make that choice
The bullet that pierced his chest
Is what took his life and voice

I think t'was meant for another
Lord, can they see what they've done
How anger has taken life
With a bullet and a gun

He was only twenty three
I knew him but not well
My world crashed in around me
When I heard the death tolls bell

Now his life is over
Friends and family left with grief
Crying with broken hearts
And stand in disbelief

It might have been his best friend
Who took his life that night
Totally by accident
When realized he took flight

God please help them one and all
Please help the pain and grief
Please help us friends and family
Find solace and relief.

God bless you Jason, we'll miss you!

We knew Jason. He was sweet, young, but troubled. One of the men they're looking for is his best friend. We believe Jason was shot by him, on accident. Regardless, it would have taken someone's life, a child of God. May the Lord bring comfort to us all, and show us that this kind of anger is just not the answer.

I'm so very sorry to learn about this tragedy. These happenings are so painful for many people and even those who don't personally know the individuals involved, feel a great sadness at such acts. May God be with all the friends and family.

Tragic, so tragic. Our young are dying all around us. I'm so sorry. I pray for all involved. Your words are heard and it's hitting home to everyone we know, even in this small community. The war is everywhere. God protect and provide us we the love we need to turn it around.

I'm so sorry to hear of this tragic story Becky ~ It's so sad to read such horrific articles everyday...You have expressed well the pain and heartache felt by the loss of this young man.  My prayers are sent and may God bless his family and friends.  Bonnie

Your poetic account of this tragedy is very sad indeed and I do hope that it was an
accident as you've stated it might be.... Oh, but what a terrible accident that affects so
many innocent people including the young man on the run.  It's sad that these occurrences have become so common place, but yet we must remain sensitive to our world around us in order to seek God and pray.  I believe the answers are still found in the Lord and we still have an incredible responsibility to be a “shining light” in what seems to be becoming a more darkened world.  A very heart touching write and thank you for being sensitive to those hurting around you that are in need.  Bob <><

Thank you all, I'm short on time right now, so I'll come back later and respond.

Jason was a friend of my husband and I. I was quite shocked to hear of his death.
Bob, the gun was aimed at someone with him, but apparently missed and hit Jason instead.

Here's the update of today, if anyone is interested.

Dear White Dove.  These things happen far too often.  I am so sorry about it as I am everytime I read of these senseless acts.  So many times it is the innoent bystander.  But it is good to air the hurt that it causes not only to the victim but to all of us.  Joyce
