When Glory Sings Hallelujah !

~*Marge Tindal*~

Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the day in splendor breaking
of the coming of the Lord
on the promise of His making
he is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
ever fruitful measure of my life's reward
he hath loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword
thunder of His footsteps across the day in quaking
his truth is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

I have seen him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
Stoke of fire in embers spark
they have builded him an altar in the evening dews and damps
built a flame within my heart
I can read his righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
drawing me forth from days of dark
his day is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel
He turns the pages for me
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal"
so that I might know His Light
let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
leads me to His Glory in the darkness of the night
since God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
Let all men hear the sound
he is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat
of Gabriel's horn now blown
oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him, be jubilant, my feet
following the music, lead me on, lead me on
our God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea
Oh, what a glorious night
with a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me
drawn to stable by star of light
as he died to make men holy, let us live to make men free
Sacrificed at Calvary on the cross of man
Risen on third light, to His Father did descend
while God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave
Lord I am waiting and ready
he is wisdom to the mighty, he is honor to the brave
never to waver - standing the steady
so the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong his slave
Lift me Lord, Lift me Lord - take me home
our God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

What a glorious way you have managed to celebrate the Glory of our God!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Marge,

Whenever I hear this song my heart just lifts inside with reverenced pride....
and I need to touch my heart for I do love this blessed America and our God on which our nation was built...  and yes, let God's Truth be marching on.

A wonderful rendition of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

You've woven a beautiful poem into a beloved song and created a song of glory, a song of faith, a song of knowing. Incredible!
