As this long summer day draws to a close,
I can shut my eyes in sweetest repose;
Knowing I have spent all day with my Lord,
Following and pondering on His word.

I pray I have brought no harm to anyone
With a careless word or deed I have done.
This good day is gone and will not return.
Did it hold a lesson for me to learn?

With an uncertain span of time to use,
There is not a moment for me to lose
In bowing to my father's greater will.
With only my best, these days I shall fill.

If I've stumbled a bit, my Lord forgive,
And I promise a better life to live.
My greatest desire is in pleasing You.
Lord direct me in everything I do.

Joyce; I love the way you have lovingly expressed this poem! I too ask only that His perfect Will be done in my life! Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Wonderful prayer.
I pray I have brought no harm to anyone
With a careless word or deed I have done.
This good day is gone and will not return.
Did it hold a lesson for me to learn?
