This was written during yesterday's, 7/1/01, Sunday message.  It is supposed to show that, even though the world gives onslaught with things very much against being Pure of Heart, and we are weak in fighting them, that a pure heart is one that want to do right and struggles to do right in spite of it all.  That's what matters.  At least I think that's what it's supposed to be saying.

Blessed Are the Pure
Virginia Salter

Blessed are the pure in heart
-----condoms on demand---
Blessed are the clean of soul
-----Peyton Place is panned---

Loved are the chaste of mind
-----in spite of human bent---
Raised up are the pleading
-----in a word of true repent-

They shall see God
-----those who seek with all their worth
To follow in His footsteps
-----in their path upon this Earth

This trodden soil, filled with pain
-----strewn with blashpemic ill
Is overseen by God above
-----now and ever still.

Pure in mind is not our ilk
-----yet a longing full pervades
The very sinew of our being
-----lies in heart of tender blade.

A heart that brings forth
-----gleaming eyes and smiles
When conviction is at hand
-----to overcome our wiles.

One after His own loving power
-----to touch with tenderness
Seeking to be His hands, His feet
-----with full intent to bless.

Therefore might we shed the rind
-----that permeates and ails
Replace it, then, out of the waters
-----new life, not one that fails.

This says a lot in few words, VAS.  I think you got your message across just fine.

Wonderful inspiration! Thank you. Ellie
