There are roads that lead to countries.
Others lead you to a town
And while some have no distinction,
There are many of renown.
We can drive on dirt and gravel
And we find some tarred or paved,
While some seem to be abandoned,
With their surface worn and caved.

There are roads across the desert
That are little more than trails.
I remember crossing canyons
Where the roads were made of rails.
You see pathways through the sagebrush
Where the countryside is parched.
They're patrolled on army bases,
Where brave soldiers drilled and marched.

There are roads that lead to London.
Ancient causeways lead to Rome,
But I'm sure the most familiar
Are the roads that lead you home.
Along these roads all through our lives.
As we drive or ride or plod,
We need to keep remembering,
Only one road leads to God!

Wonderful! That is the only road We ever need! Ellie

Trillium,

Now, wouldn't you think that we would be able to stay right on it since it is so straight and narrow....  I suppose that we just need to stay focused on our destination.  A very nice poem about roads and so much more.   Bob <><

Nice reminder that whether it be a smooth or difficult journey, There is only one road that takes you to God!

Bob:  Thanks for your remarks.  Yes, you'd think it would be easy to stay focused on the only road that matters, but seems like when a new road crosses the one we're on, we are tempted to follow. Fortunately, God prevails!

Enjoyed your work and words.

There are many roads that we all take,
There's many steps that we all make
Within this life we live
Faith it keeps us going on
Though life at times can weigh a ton
Love God will always give

There are many roads indeed, but Isaiah said "Prepare in the desert a highway for our God".  In a way the road to God is one we must prepare, and he will come to us on that road.

I loved what you did with this one.

Stephen.
