Grandma's Example

~*Marge Tindal*~

I remember precious evenings
kneeling by side of bed
Grandma clasping hands
and bowing her sweet head

The simple prayers she taught me
have stayed with me all my years
Led by her example
shared sometimes through her tears

Blessings from the prayer time
spent at Grandma's place
Thanking her for the lessons
shared with me in grace

To end each day with moments
shared with my Lord above
brings to me soft memories
of Grandma's example of love

She said I would rememember
and she expected me to teach
others who would come into
the circle of my reach

So it is with a gladdened heart
I share with friends that I've made here
Grandma's example of thanking Him
for everything that we hold dear

  Maiden Dear
this one excites me,
returning memories of
Evening Star......
dear departed but not forgotten
   our granny of the lodge..
blessings on you

how this wonderful poem reminds me of my blessed grandmother...thank you! Love, Ellie

SweetSoaringEagle~
I remember with you.
Thank you for the inspiration.
I love you, my friend.

SongBird~
She held my heart in her prayers and taught me that the world
always looked better spent in time on my knees sharing with God.

Joyce~
Thank you.
She was a sterling example.

LoneWolf~
Thanks so much.
I feel very fortunate that my Grandma Wainwright
shared her prayers with me and with God.

Ellie~
I am pleased to have reminded you of a loved one.
Thank you for letting me know.

Bonnie~
Thank you so much.
I have a black and white photo of
my Grandmother and I in a moment of prayer.
Her hair was of angelic white.
It is a cherished memento.

Julian~
Yes ... and I thank you for such a meaningful reply.

Vicky~
Your reply is warming to this heart.
I have many sweet, wonderful memories of my Grandmother ...
In my life, I've never found even one thing she taught me
that hasn't been just the right thing to do or say.
God has been so good to me - see, He sent you to be a friend~

In sharing prayer, your grandmother gave you so much more than her time and good memories. If only all children had someone to teach them how to pray. This is beautiful!

This is a testimony of one generation passing on something of great worth to another... the fear and reverence of the Lord our God.

Thanks for sharing this.

Stephen.

Illusion~
Yes, she gave me the gift of the doorway to eternity ...
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Stephanos~
She did teach me reverance for my Maker...
but never 'fear'.
For in His keep ... I am unafraid.
