Where is My Holy Ground?
Virginia Salter

Surely this would be the place
alabaster floors
cleansed to purification

Or there before an altar
where candlelight glows
and incense burns.

Ah, perhaps where carpet’s spotless
pews are polished
window’s aglow with light.

Could it only be at the table,
the table of the Lord
where worshipers find focus?

What of. . . as one
meets a tender moment
and His Spirit touches one’s heart?

Even on a mountain top
or along a desert stream,
beside saguaro cactus or thorny briars spreading woe

Could it be
anywhere I call His Holy Name
beseeching, fervently, that I may come near

Isn’t that my Holy ground, whenever He is here...

How very true.... He is here alive in my heart!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Virginia, our holy ground I believe is internal. It is found in moments of purity when we act in kindness or see something beautiful. Some wonderfully written images. Enjoyed the read.
