Home With A View

My home is far from Seventh Avenue
but my house does have a window with a view.
I have viewed a lot from my quiet street
and I learned it all from folks I'll never meet.
Yes, my home is fresh, and wholesome inside...
"Look out my window and crime can't be denied!"
Yesterday morn the girl raped out in her yard,
truly testifies, life on the streets is hard.
In the twilight, shots rang out through the dark
when a drive-by left a boy dead at the park.
Oh, I saw it all from my window with a view
and perhaps you saw it too.....?
on the Evening News.

Oh, Bob, you have shown the world in this explicit poem as it truly is, very much in need of our Saviors Love...Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

It is sad to see such things from your window.
I hope there are some happy sights as well.

Must be why I seldom watch the news, instead I choose to look out the window of this quiet town in which I live...yet, all those things you mention, happen here as well...at least seldom on my street, I'm very glad to tell.

But I guess that doesn't signify that I need give up no prayers because it hasn't happened to me.

Powerful poem, truly powerful!

I think we have all seen and heard these things way too often.  Great write, Bob.  There is a lot to be learned from that view of yours!  God Bless!

That's one window that I most often close the blinds on. Horrible to watch, I must also try to change the view, and share with others the beauty that lies outside so many other windows in my world.
Thanks for a thought-provoking poem!
Debbie
