Every since you chose me Jesus,
My heart hasn't been the same.
Now that you've washed me Holy One,
I can stand here without blame.

I shall never forget the day when
Your soul stretched beyond measure.
All of your stripes became red ribbons,
And bowed themselves around me as

A gift for the Father's pleasure.

This is a most touching piece and one which says so much-  Jesus didn't die for us because He had to- but because, His Father wanted Him to, and He was willing to do it, so that we might recieve the Father's gift of Love, forgiveness, purpose and grace-Thank God for His most Generous Gift to usward!

For in that grand
experience,
The Better ALL become.

Joyce,

Your poem touched me just to remember it was Jesus who chose us and not we who chose Him.  To know that I was chosen before the foundation of the world is bewildering to me..... but I do accept it by faith.  Thank you.  Bob <><
