It's morning and a yellow sky
Lights up the east and draws the eye,
To where the sun will soon appear.
The songs of all the birds I hear
Seem jubilant and joyful too,
At coming through the night to view
Another sunrise and to sing
Of happy things the day will bring
And as the color starts to grow,
The world takes on a golden glow,
That seems intense and quite unreal.
I look around me and I feel
This day is different from the rest
And by the time it paints the west,
I will have savored every hour
And brought some secret dream to flower.
With heart-felt gratitude I pray
To God who gave this lovely day!

God gives us these lovely days and we don't always appreciate them. Today is rainy and cool but the green is so brilliant with the raindrops it is quite beautiful.  You wrote another lovely poem.  Joyce

BettyLou~
You pen perfection in your rhyme~

'This day is different from the rest
And by the time it paints the west,
I will have savored every hour
And brought some secret dream to flower.'

Lovely, lovely, lovely ! ! !

*Smiles*  The poem was beautiful, and the rhyme scheme very catchy.  As said in an earlier reply, it does give you a wonderfully vivid image.  =o}
