In God's Image

Let us be in God's image
as we're walking down the aisle
after making holy vows
in the light of tears and smiles.

Let us be in God's image
when we're wedded man and wife
embracing matrimony
two in Love to bring new life.

Let us be in God's image
when we're joined as one to pray
thanking God for our children
as a blessing sent our way.

I like this very much.  When I was small I pictured God as looking just like my Dad only much bigger.  I still have that image in my head.  Joyce

Oh the Beauty God gives us, being patterned after His Beautiful Self--You've said it well here, Friend!  We need to seek that likeness in marriage and in every aspect & relationship in our life.

Oh, Yes, beautiful!  And being in God's image does not mean the superficial physical appearance but the image of His heart, mind, spirit.

Lovely, Lighthousebob!!!

Bob this was spectacular! This should be read at weddings. You know what? Matter of fact someone in one of the discussion forums was looking for a poem to read at a wedding.

Maybe??

This was beautiful Bob!!

This indeed would be a fitting part of any wedding ceremony. Such excellent writing.
