We're almost halfway through the year
Of Two Thousand and One.
We're still at the beginning of
The new millennium.
Will this be the year that finally,
We find our peace on earth?
It has been twenty centuries
Since our dear Saviors birth.
He came with complete directions
Of how to attain this goal.
But men don't seem to understand
His great peacemaking role.
God says it very simply and
He sends it from above;
The answer that will cure our woes,
Encompassing brotherly love.

Dear Joyce:  Good poem.  You'd think this would be an easy goal to reach wouldn't you?
Instead it has been impossible.

Good one. Why can't we just all get along?

Wow this one can take so many different avenues.  One to make you really ponder.

I asked the same question many, many times. "Why can't we all just get along?"

Because we're all so different. Different opinions, different styles, different lives.
Just the way God wanted it. A commandment that sounds so simple to do, but really isn't.  It shows how great He is, and really how weak we are.

Love it Joyce!

Nice job on the poem.
Yes, humanity is very diverse.  Different opinions, different beliefs... just as WhtDove said.
All that we can do is see to it that we treat everyone equally, and not discriminate against those different.  I'm sure that's what God wants.
