(For two years our local paper has been printing letters on both sides of this subject.  I sent this in, hoping it would be the last word.  It wasn't.  The war rages on.  Joyce)

May I add my bit to the big debate?
Are we but just a trick of fate?
Or did the Great He, man and woman create?

The Creationists say and believe it true,
That God created me and you;
In His own perfect form, nothing else would do.

He made us a world, a perfect fit;
Until we wrecked it quite a bit.
And now we don't know how to rescue it.

But the other side will happily state,
We've just moved up from the nearest primate.
I'm asking of those, with that point of view,
"Just what are we evolving into?"

I felt a since of jest in this poem but.....
What a fearful question if you give it some serious thought....... What are we becoming? I do hope and pray that we are becoming more and more like Christ.  God bless you,  Bob <><

I suppose this controversy will rage on until the end of time.  How anyone cannot believe in creation is hard to comprehend.
Good poem Joyce.

I like your poem.  I always say, "Well, if we, indeed, did begin from a blob, God did it that way for good reason."  That way I'm not arguing, but reaffirming God's way is right whatever it is.  Also, if we evolved from apes, and they from gators, and they from fish, why are all these species still here?  Thanks for sharing this.   Rae

Ah Joyce, the war will rage on. LOL

It is hard to believe how someone can't believe, but that's the best work of Satan.
If he can get you to believe that there is no God, then he has no competition.

There was a little statement that came to mind when I read this...Big Bang Theory..."God spoke, Bang it happened."  LOL  I love that one.

A bird skeleton back then, still looks the same now, and for all animals as well. We know we didn't evolve, but it's hard to explain that to someone else. Only God can change their mind.

Good for you though, for sending it in!

Ok, this one really hit a spot with me...
Speaking from the point of view of a fine example of "the best work of Satan," I'll say that this topic (evolution vs creationism) comes up quite often amongst me and my friends.
Now I look at humanity, an earthly force... and something called God, a spiritual force.
I put my faith in the forces that I trust, the ones that I am a part of, and the ones that have proven themselves to me... and these just happen to be the earthly ones.
Humanity is creating a world where we can do nearly anything.  This very forum is a fine example, people coming from all over just to meet and discuss things, from the comfort of our own homes, regardless of distance.
All of this was brought to us by the hand of technology, and as an extension of that, the hand of humanity.
So I would like to respond to "what are we becoming?" with the statement "we are becoming creators."
We are learning so much about this planet... how the entire system of reality functions... and we will eventually create an ideal planet of our own.
Humanity, the driving force of the future.
We are evolving into something wonderful, and we should be proud of this.
Of course, this is just my opinion.

Allan, I'm not gonna go into a discussion here, I just want to say something.

If God created all things, then everything we "create" comes from those things that God has given us. So ultimately, everything we do, comes from something God has given.

I know not what the future holds,
but I know Who holds the future.

I don't question YOUR existance - GOD

I didn't mean to get into a discussion with my poem either.  I was just trying to ridicule the evolutionists a little.  Because if we evolve we have not reached our final step and who knows what fate awaits humankind in that event.  My own faith tells me we were created in God's image and our little differences are his loving ideas.  Joyce

I agree that this topic will go on for a long time. Life, as we know it, is just a speck in GOD's plan. I have always wondered, What IS god's image? Can you honestly define it?
