What must be opened and never again closed.
That is my innermost man.
If a brother or sister I see fall,
make me strong enough to lend my hand.
To pick him or her up and give encoragement
to continue and persevere.
For that must be the reason
that on this earth I'm here.
Make me strong enough to suffer
that which suffer I must.
Fro great will be the final reward,
and meager will be earth's cost.
For to have the not would i surely die.
Unlike Thomas , may I never doubt you.
And much rather would i, if good reason, softly cry
than to brazenly laugh without you.

I really like this, it is your best one I have seen. Perhaps would be even better would a few minor changes as follows to these lines. I hope you don't care.
To pick him or her up and give encouragement
to continue and persevere.
For that must be the reason
that on this earth I'm here.
Make me strong enough to suffer
For suffer I must
For greater will be the final reward,
Meager will be earth's cost.

(For to have the not would i surely die.)
This line is hard to say, I would leave it out or change it.

Unlike Thomas , may I never doubt you.
Much rather would i, if good reason, softly cry
than to brazenly laugh without you.

great poem!

Just go easy on 'ol Tom... remember his was one of the greatest professions of faith in the new testament (none of the other 11 ever said anything close to this to Jesus) -

"My Lord and my God"

lord make me weak,

Happy holidays to you my friend....

.....and may we find the strength and courage to lift one another during this our short season found on Earth.  You have expressed some very strong sentiments on life here in this poem.     God Bless You,  Bob <><
