Forgive me, Lord
when I get down
‘Bout orthopedic shoes,
black or brown
Forgetting painful
swollen feet
You healed when I gave
in to defeat

Forgive me, Lord
when on my knees
I growl, unable to
crawl as I please
When I ought be
thankful they bend
to humbly kneel and
pray at days end

When my feet give out
at mid-day
I sit and complain
about gaining weight.
Please forgive my
forgetfulness
of all my aching, swollen
joints You have blessed

Lord, remind me
whenever I frown
or complain, just how
awful I sound
to You who
suffered willingly
for me, on that cross
on Calvery.

Oh dear Sandgrain.  I don't think he minds at all when you moan over your aching feet.  He knows how that feels and he sees your soft, loving heart.  Joyce

Oh, sandgrain, how I do relate to every whimper...I agree with Joyce, though, He understands better than anyone!

I know he wants to hear all your troubles, after all, how can he help if we don;t tell Him what we need? He knows we are only human after all! Love, Ellie

sandgrain,

He is always there with an ear to listen to anything we have to say.  Keep on sharing with Him.  That is the reason He paid the ultimate price . . . so that we could be forgiven.

I guess our aches and pains are part of His plan for us.  perhaps to give us a glimpse of what His agony was.

sandgrain,

It does seem that in spite of ourselves
that we do always have so much more to
be thankful for than not........

Perhaps you were serious about your condition, but I had to laugh a bit at some of our pains of growing older.  I do admire your Faith.

Thanks for reminding me Jesus understands my human failures.  Sometimes I just feel so very guilty, like those who were led out of Egypt, then complained about foods they missed.
In '96, I was practically helpless, when I came down with rheumatoid arthritis.  Both feet, ankles, knees, wrists, all fingers, my elbows and shoulders were terribly inflamed, extremely swollen and horrendously painful.  Now all swelling is gone and pain is just from being on my feet (left a little crippled) for a while or trying to crawl when washing a floor.  It's so anthillish compared to the mountain ranges of anguish our Lord removed, I ought not even mention it, but find myself moaning sometimes. My prayers for healing have been answered beyond what I could ever have dreamed.

He did what He did so that He could be a more understanding, compassionate God.

He is just that to us. Very understanding, because He's been through it. Who could better understand our anguish?

Great write though Mom!! Really makes you stop and take a look at things.

Thanks for your reply, Becca.  I know you know what I speak of (how bad off I was compared to now).  So you know what I mean when I say seem I'm whining over a hangnail after my life has just been saved.
Love,  Mom

Yep I do know. I know we pray for healing, and we get it. I know after a while, those little pains also start to get in the way, and we forget.

Remembering to be thankful is something we all must work at. He has blessed you indeed, and made you better, and I sure understand what you're saying.
