This weathered cross, made out of wood,
would tell His story, if it could.
That Simon carried it along,
amidst a cruel and ruthless throng,
to where it held the precious weight
of Jesus, as he met His fate.
Yet in His pain and agony,
He both forgave and set us free
to join Him in a better place,
when we have run our final race.

Good job on this poem, I liked it a lot.

"to join Him in a better place,
when we have run our final race."

Very good job!  I think this is one of your best yet, the meter is flawless and it reads just outstandingly.
I'm very impressed.

Thank you for writing and sharing this well done piece.  What joy to know He arose again after this horrible death on our behalf.
