The cat bird's call
Awoke me
His mewing
Gave me a start

Was there a kitten
Beneath my window
Or was it a
Mocking bird
Playing the part

God must have been
In a jolly mood
When he created
Our feathered friends

For everyone's
Has a song to sing
Borrowed may it be
And each one has
His own special version
Of pure fowl comedy

Songbird:  This is so true.  We are amazed at how many different calls a blue jay can make.  They even imitate my husband whistling for our dogs. Cute poem.

lovely the way you write of nature with your humor... sooo funny!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Yes, I'm sure God has a sense of humor and you've written well of it.  I enjoyed this.
Thank you, Rae

Heh-heh-heh, purely fowl comedy, enjoyed!

Do you know about the cuckoo bird, what comedy that is, regarding their 'parenting' skills, uh, lack thereof, and the amazing gullibility of the surrogate parent?

I love the flow if it..... it glowed with a light-hearted approach to the topic.  And the message remained intact.  For this, I applaud you.

Glad you enjoyed. It is funny you never know when you wake up in the morning what is going to trigger a poem. Each day is a surprise.  No I don't know much about Cuckcoo
Birds, just the clock variety. Thanks for your comments.
