The morning is so cold and gray,
I need some hugs from God today.
There seems to be an air of gloom
drifting through each empty room.
I pause beside the door, then go
on outside to rake and hoe
the garden bed, where I can see
bits of sprouting greenery.
Some progress I began to make,
when through the clouds, the sun did break
to flood the area where I
stood and gazed up at the sky.
It was a glory to behold.
A stream of warm and glowing gold
that wrapped me in a warm embrace
and put a smile upon my face.
I needed hugs and so I guessed
this was His love made manifest!

Trillium,

I love how God manifest His love to you through the warm sunshine displayed through the breaking clouds.

This was a delightful poem to read.    Bob <><

I know Trillium, you find your hugs from God in nature, every day.  Love,  Joyce

Bob:  I have often been caught in a sudden burst of sunshine when working in the yard, but not until today and answering the challenge, did I think of it as a "hug from God".  Now, I will never think of it as anything else!  Thanks for commenting.

I love the hugs He gives through nature as well...this is so lovely!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Your poetry just sings.  The sun shining, after the dreary days beginging, certainly does feel like God just reaches down and hugs us.  Thank you,

Gawd this just made my soul jump for joy!
This was totally awesome! I had that same feeling today as the gloom loomed outside. I stood in the kitchen doing the dishes and the sun broke out and streamed through the windows warming me, bringing a smile to my face. Just like this poem did!

WhtDove:  how neat that we both had somewhat the same experience, with sunshine this morning.  I never had thought about the sun breaking through clouds as a "hug from God" but now, since your challenge, I will always think so.  The challenge is really a great idea. Thanks.
