Needed Hugs From God

Each week she came alone
to Sunday school she came
and every week she'd come
she always looked the same.
Though she was but a child,
I never thought her odd
for I knew she had come
for needed hugs from God.

Her dreams were all broken
like shrapnel in her heart
she prayed for her family
and watched them fall apart.
Through the pain and heartache
that brought many nights of tears,
I watched her grow stronger
as a child past her years.

Dear God, as I ponder
the children just like she
looking for the answers
that in life perhaps won't be;
Help me as a Christian
to look past their facade
and reach out in Your Love
with needed hugs from God.

This was nice.  It flowed quite well, but I thought the first three lines were a bit redundant.
Still, a very good answer to the challenge.

First few lines of my poem
are most redundant true
for that's how church can be
mostly redundant too
for if none should act
upon God's Holy Word
as to give a child a hug
is of  Faith most absurd
for if we can move mountains
by the words we say
how much more will a hug
help a child along their way.

Can't argue with that.

Dear Trillium, Dear Trillium
my friend at Passion's post
for witnessing a child lost
I hug you, my friend, the most.
And I know God the Father
to him will forever be
a true and dear companion
as they go fishing Crystal Sea.

Whoa, were did you get that shiner?
And here's a hug for you my friend,
there's nothing that's much finer.

Bob; you are definitly on an inspirational role   and it's wonderful! you have the best one here, His best hugs are the ones we give to others!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Ellie you are a friend
of whom I admire much.
You give such inspiration
through your poetic touch
and so it is you hug us all
with your love most everyday
by simple words from Heaven
that hold us here to stay.

Sandgrain you are precious
and God hears each reply
that you ask for others
with loving questions why.
Sandgrain you are precious
and all who know it's true
that you are the best of friends
so here's a hug for you.

I admit sometimes, Whitedove,
us kids can get out of hand
but you're a dove to lead us
and to help us understand.
Like giving to us challenges
to give hugs to one another,
kind of what God might do
if He was our mother...
So, Whitedove I thank you
for your patience with us all
and I will try to be present
whenever challenges will call.

Good night to one and all
my posting must now end
it was really marvelous
to hug you all my friends
and to all who gave hugs
I sincerely applaud...
and pray that this whole world
will be blessed in hugs from God.
