The Locket

Everyday God pulls you out
to present before a crowd
for He knows you are a child
of whom He is so proud
and He can not keep you hid
down deep within His pocket
for you are so near to Him
like a picture in a locket.

You're God's most sacred prize
who's worth your weight in gold
and if you had ears to hear,
you'd know what stories told
about the throne of God
when He pulls your locket out
and explains to the angels,
"Now, that's what life's about!"

What a neat concept! I never thought about our relationship with God in this way before.

Bob; What a wonderful analogy. We keep the picture of the one most precious to us in a locket and we are each so much more precious to him. Ellie

Bob, this was so cool!

It gives new meaning to the scripture which speaks of  "which things the angels desire to look into."  You might laugh, but I really think that is what the angels desire to look into... how the heavenly Son of God came into and lives inside of mortal man, so that God can truly say of them "This is my son (or daughter) with whom I am well pleased".  Praise his holy name!

The angels are beings who just don't know what exactly it is to have been lost and then redeemed.  Redemption's song is a song they can never sing, yet it holds their deepest curiosity and causes them to give glory to the only wise God who is our savior.

Thanks for this one.  I enjoyed it very much.

Stephen.

Bob this was just awesome! What a different view of it all. This was just so neat and creative to display how God feels about us.

I'd have to say that I enjoyed the tone of this poem quite a lot.  It was rather casual and light-hearted to me... it made for a wonderful read.
The defined tone of this poem is what earns my praise.  Other than that, I'll applaud the meaning as well.
