Heaven's Gate

At dawn, when wisps of wind sing against a child's window pane,
when soft rushes of butterfly wings sail upon trickles of heavenly rain,
they say that wishes come true when whispered in the morning air,
granted by the Lord, sending His lace-edged messenger to deliver with care

Do flutter by, gentle butterfly sublime
take children's sweet dreams to God's sacred realm divine,
soar free, soar high, soar across rainbows 'neath the cerulean sky,
soar on through the breeze past sunflowers and elusively fly

Soar with cherubs past the tangerine sun, float upon their dance,
to the world show your glory, children's eyes do entrance,
soar lightly, soar gaily, soar swift...do hurry, dreams do fade, now don't be late,
flutter upon the steps aglow, 'pon the stairway to Heaven's Gate

Greet the hour of angel choir songs of love
enter the paradise of God's cathedral above,
enter freedom, enter laughter and truth. Enter into what was once a dream,
grace that golden gate into the ever so beautiful, peaceful scene

Do caress and deliver a child's wish now free
for, Heaven's Gate of pearl awaits thee,
come enter souls pure, come enter souls kind
enter upon a butterfly to God's arms, 'tis a heart's greatest find

Soar on free, soar on high, soar across rainbows, gentle butterfly,
sing in merriment to the world, an angel's lullaby,
travel through moring, through mid day and starry night,
lavish over a child the Creator's calming light

Through seasons of sorrow, or on a fresh Spring day
bring miracles back to little children, then fly back to the clouds and play.
Dreams have been granted. Your task is done. Wond'rous butterfly now rest,
return to His side, an archangel. His most honorable guest

Once more at dawn, wisps of wind shall sing against a child's window pane
bringing forth the soft rush of wings, delivering dreams upon God's heavenly rain

This is beautiful and I'm sure God does use butterflies along with all of his creatures to carry messages between here and heaven. Thank you for a delight. Joyce

Melissa,

Such a wonderful message as we begin the first days of spring.....
Wow, I can just imagine clouds of butterflies carrying children's dreams to the Master
of dreams come true. Wonderful imagery, I felt like I too was soaring right along side
as we flew though those marvelous gates of pearl. Very creative.

Melissa; I love the the pure joy of this heavenly poem! I love butterflies and often include them in my poems, but you have written a masterpiece here of their delightfulness!  Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Beauty in every single line, and a very delightful read.
This would be nice printed and framed for a childs bedroom, especially if the room was decorated in butterflies.

This is beauty and innocence!

I love it! I agree with BR, it would go great framed or even on a painted mural on a wall in a bedroom. Beautiful.

ps. there's one word mispelled, if you can't change it, I would be happy to do it for you.

"travel through moring, through mid day and starry night,"

I would also recommend you submit this to the main site.
