How often I've stopped but to wonder,
Just what the reason could be.
In what way did I fit in the great master plan,
When my Master created me?

I live in the midst of great beauty.
I've had joys that I didn't earn.
I wonder what God is expecting of me;
That I should give Him in return.

I treasured the children He gave me.
I valued them more than my life;
And it was the same with my husband.
I was always his good, faithful wife.

There must be more You are asking,
If only I could unstop my ear;
Something to offer to know that the world
Is better because I was here.

So many have gone on before me.
Their lives have had meaning too.
They quickly accepted Your will, Lord,
And knew what they needed to do.

Why am I stumbling and falling;
Searching for why I am here?
I'm ready and willing to follow Your lead.
Please tell me in words loud and clear.

Are these humble words what you want Lord?
If so I will do all I can,
To write with depth and percipiency,
Fo the love of my fellowman.

So I pray for divine inspiration
To say what I'm needing to say;
Words to help in some sad situation,
Or to steer a lost soul the right way.

These words I now offer to You, Lord,
Are all that I have now to give.
Hoping this will repay, in a quite humble way,
For this life that You gave me to live.

Joyce,

There is nothing more powerful than your words
and I am thankful that you have dedicated your
words to the Glory of God. There really is no
limits as to how far God can take your words
to reach a hungry soul. I believe that they are
and will continue to be there to bless and comfort
not only yourself but others as well. Bob <><

I'm sure you have touched the lives of many people with your words of poetry Joyce. Perhaps that is part of your purpose.

If these lovely words of His Love and Grace touch just one soul today,doesn't that make it all so clear? This poem has touched me and I thank you! Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Wow, I hadn't read this before posting 'Life Isn't Fair' but that's along the lines of being undeserving. This is a humble prayer that I'm sure brings God glory and I know helps me, and I'm sure many others, Joyce.
God bless,
Rae

I think many of us have asked that question.
We each have a gift given us to use for the praise of God. Maybe that gift is prayer for others, maybe a smile to someone who is depressed, and it may not seem like much, but you never know. That smile might have saved someone who was contemplating on leaving this world.

I believe we do fill His purpose even if we aren't aware of doing it sometimes.

Beautiful poem Joyce!

This was touching to me... especially since it echoed kindred thoughts I've had and now have about my life. I praise God that he has a wonderful destiny prepared for us and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

Stephen.
