[The following a wrote for the graveside service of a dear man in our congregation, who had a lifelong- struggle with alcohol- but in the end gained a victory over it. In Loving Memory of BILL WORD,
1930-2001]

Brother Bill, Brother Bill
We honor here your life,
Tho' it had it's weakness,
And you knew much strife,
You also had your Sweetness
You were such a delight,
Brother Bill, Brother Bill
You put up a good fight!

Brother Bill, Brother Bill
You danced with the demons,
And they oft' stomped your toes,
All with no good reason,
But undaunted, them you showed
To overcome the legion,
Brother Bill, Brother Bill
You showed to all there's a season!

Brother Bill, Brother Bill
Now you can take your ease,
Your times of struggle are through,
You're freed from all disease,
Thus we are thankful for you
That you have found release,
Brother Bill, Brother Bill
Enjoy your unearthly Peace!

Brother Bill, Brother
From you may we learn,
That though Life's oft' not easy
It's challenges ne'er spurn,
LORD, we too, seek to please Thee
And with humbled spirits we yearn,
Brother Bill, Brother Bill
Like you, may our cares be o'erturned!

David; What a warm and wonderful tribute! You took the time and love to see into the heart and truth of this dear man's life and heart, and blessed his family with such a wonderful remembrance. What a blessing you are! Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

One hard life described, then in the end God shines. It doesn't matter how we are born, but how we die.Brother Bill, had a rough life but the ending it's a glorious one, that's what's important.Jesus died for us to set us free. This tribute tells the tale of many. Very good work!

A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes.

This is a sweet tribute, and must have been a great comfort to the family. Thank you for sharing it with us.

David,

What an honor you have given to one who has passed through this world and its struggles to gain his reward in Christ. Peace and restoration to his family and friends and might they be encouraged by these your contributing words of Faith and Hope.

God bless you my friend, Bob <><
