Kneeling in front of the altar, I pray for me. It's easier to pray for others, but for me, I never saw the need. Realization comes to me in this form, I always ask you, that others change. Yet, it's easier for you to change me than to change the world. If I was to accept myself, I would surely accept others. If I was not to lie to myself, I would not lie to others. If I was to forgive myself, I would surely forgive others. If I was to live like you, I would show the Lord's grace to others. A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |

When we let our light shine with the love of Christ, others will see. When we pray, asking for the love of Christ to dwell in us, others feel the love. We cannot change the world, but we can let the world see Christ in us, and hopefully long for the desire to know him and be like him too. I Love the realization you show in your poem. walker, God has granted you much wisdom as expressed in your poem. Though you've shared many jewels of wisdom here, the one that stood out for me was........ If I was to forgive myself, I would surely forgive others. That phrase alone speaks volumes to me. I know that God has forgiven me, but, like others, I am constantly reminded of the past and I need to once again let go of my past and let God have my present and my future will be all His. Walker; you have written a profound poem of Jesus' whole message of salvation and said it with grace! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
